Frederic Bastiat - "The Law", a must read for all citizens of the United States.

Who knew that the French have made a positive contribution to our Nation since their sea-side support near the end of our Revolutionary War.

Frederic Bastiat wrote around the time of Marx. The similarities of the two authors does not end there. They both thought and wrote about economics, government, and society. The similarities of their conclusions could not be more different.

Taxation, personal accountability, education, dependence upon governments are among the topics Bastiat discussed that eerily hold the same concerns today as they did then. Unfortunately too few have even heard of Bastiat.

I must admit that when one reads "The Law", if of a conservative persuasion, there is temptation to dismiss the author's thoughts while agreeing with the universality of the truths on which his views are founded. It challenges the mind to read something with which one agrees so much while the constant temptation to dismiss it intellectual idealism and logic without the possibility to achieve harmony with its teachings.

The book is less than 200 pages, but is word for word some of the most powerful writings since Thomas Paine's "Common Sense".

If you wish to experience a perspective in line with the great conservative thinkers of history without investing a lot of time, put down the remote control, turn off the drivel that is current 'culture' and spend some time with a Frenchman on whom I posthumously award the title "American Hero".

CLF – Creeping Leftist Fascism :

The often imperceptible, but continually advancing, assault from varieties of special interest factions on the unsuspecting and silent majority which will eventually undermine all that is good and God-given of this Nation.

As the agendas of those factions advance - undermining everything the silent majority holds dear (God, Family, Country) - they are not sated and become increasingly disillusioned with their lives.

That disillusionment bolsters their claim to the highly regarded status of “victim”. The well intentioned “non-victims” are often guilt-ridden due to their lack of clarity on the source of their blessings.

Proudly displaying the self-anointed crown of “victim”, they draw sympathy from the well intentioned.

The sympathy of the remaining well intentioned within the society emboldens those whose desire for equality of status without personal cost is mutually exclusive of the already guaranteed equality of opportunity.

That guarantee is cornerstone of the very documents which also compel the silent majority to tolerate the behaviors they deem undesirable for themselves.

The factions continue to gather and demonstrate en-masse as they believe they must educate the silent majority in the celebrated virtues of acceptance and uniformity of thought, oft disguised respectively as tolerance and diversity.

The illusion continues as the fog of political correctness undermines the perception of the generations.

Those deluded generations continue to advance in knowledge, while the benefactors of wisdom decrease and are scorned,  for the application of their wisdom might somehow undermine the self esteem of the coddled.

The coddled individuals with injured esteem seek retribution. The frequency and ferocity of those unwilling to repent for their crime of recognizing universal truth and respect for the truly omnipotent, are condemned by the blind and publicly derided and libeled. Those who choose not to witness on the behalf of the universal truth, overtime loose their sight and add to the populous of the blind.

Their ability to accurately witness is degraded as they allow their delusions to be confused with sight. As those who speak out in defense of the truth are silenced they will to speak truths among all is lessened, while those practiced in the art of deception increase their assault. Character assassination increasingly requires less substantiation to the point of requiring only speculation or differentiation. Their lack of self confidence, while observing the confidence of those who have questioned, deliberated, and decided to accept the universal truth, the deceived factions strike at their perceived enemies to increase their self esteem. The real threat to society remains that after years of self-delusion, it becomes increasingly unlikely that the human will be capable of convincing themselves otherwise. The paradox being, that only the universal truth can set them free, but they no longer believe the truth and have undermined the likelihood that others will remain to introduce them to the truth.
